One of the great nearby day trips our guests enjoy is a visit to Lake Lure just 35 minutes away from Cabin Fever. The river, streams and waterfalls converge into a perfectly sized 720-acre man-made lake where its unique shoreline of coves, hills and valleys give way to boulders and cliffs, creating a multitude of awe-inspiring vistas at every turn.
Films like My Fellow Americans a 1996 comedy-drama starring Jack Lemmon and James Garner, and Dirty Dancing starring Patrick Swayze were filmed here.
While there make sure you visit Chimney Rock and the quaint shops in the riverside village.
